Spelling

I've been so impressed with M so far this year. Every Friday she has a spelling test with a bonus word. So far her bonus words have been August, September, Wednesday, Thursday and surprise. She's known all of them. I was really surprised this morning as I hadn't expected her to spell surprise correctly on the first try.

She's also reading through the Frog and Toad Treasury, which has all 3 Frog and Toad books inside. Ok, that 3 (and this one) drives me crazy as the font I'm looking at lowers the baseline. Yeah, I'm weird like that. Ok tangent finished. M's doing really well with her reading too. We just have to work some more on her math. Time to spend more time with the flash cards.

I have noticed something interesting when we're working on math. M touches her fingers to her lips to count. That is interesting to me because one of her stims is to rub things on her right cheek. I wonder if there's any connection. I also haven't seen any other children do that, but again, all of them could and I wouldn't know.

So as not to leave A out, he enjoys his "homework" too. He has an activity book that he calls his homework book. He and I sometimes work on those pages while M is working on her pages.

Now if we didn't have to do this at 6:30 am :)
