added some links

over there to the right, I added a couple links to some good stuff. (thanks Steve)

Conversation with A the other day at the gas station as I was getting back into the car:
A: Mommy you're back.

M: Yes, mommy's back.

A: That's strange.

Yep, confused me too. But this is also the kid who'll stand in the middle of the livingroom in just his unders complaining that he can't go to bed because he's cold.

Also, found a good quote: "Life is not a problem to be solved, but a mystery to be lived." -Kierkegaard

On another note...

The highland games are coming back to town. Woo! This is always a fun thing for us. We go and enjoy the bagpipes, the dancing, the singing, even the historical recreations of sword fights. Looking forward to going again. Some year we'll have the funds to deck the kiddos out in their own kilts & such.

Who the heck are these kids?

I mean, just look at them! Who would have thunk that these three chuckle-heads would grow up to be productive members of society? Well two of them are... not so sure about the one on the right... she looks kind of shifty to me...

And in other news... In the words of Bill Engvall, "Who told my son there was a weiner thief?" We are in the days of one-handed living, as the other hand is making sure someone doesn't snatch it right off.

Conclusions

One of the big conclusions I've come to realize is that the kiddos mean more to me than I'll ever be able to communicate. Every night I sit at this desk and I miss them to pieces. All I want to do is go home and snuggle and just be with them, if that makes sense.

Today M told me she wanted "upstairs and downstairs" beds again. She even said she'd sleep on top so she can "fly with the fairies." Sometimes I just can't get enough of her sweetness. But then again I could definately life without the comments like "Mama, you have sugar in your hair." (I'll let you figure out what that meant!)

A, on the other hand, is my cuddling partner. He & I snuggle up on the couch, and let me tell you, it's the best. Although when mom falls asleep, dad gets a bit annoyed when A gets up and tries to help make chili-mac in the kitchen.

Falling behind

Getting back into the swing of things really stinks sometimes. Not onlly do you have to get use to the routine all over again, people from all sides throw wrenches at you so you have to change said schedule and it all gets messed up. Not to mention that those darn wrenches hurt!!

So you'll have to forgive my random postings until things settle down a bit.

And by the way...

M: Did you know that Valentine's Day is soon?
_____

A: I'm not silly boy, I'm just A-----.

This is what we were doing on the holiday

snuggling on the couch with a heating pad trying to get over being sick. Think we're finally on the tail end of it though.

Now it's time to go back to said couch and heating pad and try to sleep. No, C isn't in trouble, just really stuffed up & snoring :)

1+4+15,000=24

One mistake
plus
four people who didn't catch it
plus
fifteen thousand copies of said mistake
equals
twenty four hours of work to correct the situation.

Let me just say that me & my trusty Sharpie did alot of pounding pavement today. Bleh.

Tired. Getting sick again. Bleh. Ouch

Pippi Belongstockings

She's coming to our house tomorrow.

We ordered the 4dvd collection for M. She's seen the New Adventures... one, but we got the originals. Not sure how it's going to go over, but hopefully she'll like them.

Back to work

Boy it's been a week. The time when I go back to work during the days really messes up the schedule here. This week has been especially messed up because the kids didn't have school the first couple of days. That meant taking M to therapy, running to work, leaving work to pick her up at noon, going back to work, etc. Unfortunately this week will be about the same because of parent-teacher conferences. I don't know how the heck we're going to manage all this next year when she's in school all day and has her therapies after school.

Haven't heard any phrases worth mentioning the past few days.

Utter heartbreak

Last week we were talking about having a family day. Spending the whole day as a family, playing games, going to lunch, etc.

M was so excited, she started making plans for her family party, wanting to make lemonade, practicing with her "band", finding the perfect dress, all the big party stuff. Thursday I began to suspect she had made this into way more than it was. I talked to her and tried to explain that it was just going to be she, A, mommy & daddy. That didn't work.

Friday morning comes and oh boy, she just cried and cried and cried that her whole family wasn't here. She wanted so bad to see all her family and serve them lemonade and play music for them. She wanted her two pair of gramas and grampas, her 10 cousins, all her aunts and uncles.

Maybe someday.
