So far this year is going well. Nobody's been sick, hospitalized or completely irritating (at least at home). Heck, I've even managed to correctly date things with '08.
A, who is now being called Bud, has developed a fondness for my cellphone and my "MP player". I believe he thinks he's ready to be grown up, even though he still complains that he's too little when carrying groceries from the car. Don't get me wrong though, he's still showing signs of being the overly-sensitive little guy he is.
M, who we will now call Kitty, is growing up in her own right. She passed her muffin test and passed her brownie test, now if we can just get her to pass the stirring test we can all sit back and feast on baked goods! Too bad her mom (and dad so I'm told) won't let her open or close the oven yet. Mmmmm cake batter...
As for hubbster and I, we are resolving to get back on track come Monday. Time to get back on schedule since I'll be back to work on Monday as well. Working out should entail my muscles getting bigger, not my rear. Heck, I'm even in the midst of reorganizing the kitchen to help encourage better eating and re-establish that thing called "cooking at home" that seems to have flown out the window.

The Piggott Guide to Healthy Eating:
1- always have fresh fruit to hand (get a fruit bowl with a hook for bananas)
2- Always keep a bowl of carrot sticks in the fridge or at least have them in the house (Callum likes them whole)
3- Ice water in the fridge
4- DO NOT buy junk food (this is where it all goes wrong - if you don't buy it you can't eat it)
5- Brown bread is soo much better for you - if you have a bread machine make your own with spelt flour as it is in natural flour form not processed.
6- Hide new veg - it is amazing what you can hide in mash potatoes and it will make them taste better ie. parsnip, swede, yams
7- everyone likes butter but it is all so bad for you. find a low fat low SALT version.
8- low fat yogurts are good for deserts mixed with fruit.
9- Three healthy meals - carbs/veg or protein/veg.
10- exercise - even with a car we still walk across town to school.
